August 17 - Jack's birthday. He passed away about 18 years ago.... but he's still with us in so many ways. What a bloke! What an inspiration! What a beaut Dad! Fairly good-looking fella too. Maybe it's him I get my good looks from!!!????

Parents, do you remember taking your kids to the beach? To the rockpools? Kids, do you remember your parents (or in this case your grandparents) taking you to the beach and getting into the little critters in the rocks? We sure had a beaut morning. Must've been pretty good because when we got home - 6 minute walk to our house - Owen had a 2+ hour sleep after lunch. Wonder what time he'll be up until tonight? Guess we'll find out.

Numbers 1 and 2 are due to come stay with their grandparents for a few days while their house cops some renovations. How will we cope? It will be new territory for Fay and I. And for the two boys.... one aged 3.5 and one just turned 2. Dunno who's the most excited about the whole situation..... kids, parents, grandparents????? Appropriate suggestions from other grandparents most welcome. 
This team of Bike for Bibles cyclists are headed for Broome in Western Australia as they complete their mammoth 4,355 km trip which they commenced on 6 July. They (21 riders plus a bunch of backup crew) are due to reach Broome on 12 August. Knowing Jim, their leader, they will be right on time.

There were a bunch of young teenagers who went to Wagga Wagga Teachers College back in the early sixties. Now they are either retired or heading that way. We (Fay and I) are two of them. We enjoy travelling round parts of Oz and beyond. We usually have a bike or two on board as well. Often we're towing the Avan.
